Devon's Artistic Transformation

Devon came to the Creative Arts Workshop dealing with anger and behavioral issues at school. Art gave him an outlet to express his emotions constructively. Under the guidance of mentor Carlos Rodriguez, Devon channeled his energy into painting and digital art.

His artwork was selected for the city's youth art exhibition, and he won a regional competition that earned him a scholarship to the School of Visual Arts summer program. Devon now aspires to become a graphic designer.

"Art saved me," Devon says simply. "Carlos taught me that my feelings could become something beautiful."
